Closer

This morning I woke up and went for a run.  I did about 3.5 miles in about 38 minutes.  The first .25 mile I was really having a difficult time getting started.  I kept asking myself why I do this to myself.  Really why did I find this enjoyable on a Saturday morning when everyone in the house was still sleeping.  I was using my phone's radio and was tuned into a local pop rock station.  That station plays music that seems to get me through my runs.  Just as I was trying to keep myself from walking, the song Closer by Ne-Yo came on.  Now that song has absolutely NOTHING to do with the purpose that I used it for today.  The part of the song that caught my ear and my mind were the lyrics that repeatedly says "I just can't stop".  That is what kept me going.  I didn't stop the whole run.  When I wanted to stop, I would sing those words in my head.  I felt great after I was finished!

Funny Friday

This weeks Funny Friday comes from my oldest.

Yesterday we had a rain storm come through.  After the storm I had the back door open so the boys could run in and out while I cleaned up a little inside.  We have a big fenced in yard that is safe for them to run around in.  At one point my oldest comes in pulling up his shorts.  I asked what he was doing. His response:  "I peed outside because I wanted to make it rain like God made it rain."

Weekly Weigh-In

I can't believe it's Friday already!  This week sure has gone by fast.  Since it's Friday, that means it's Weekly Weigh-in day.  Results -165.6.  BARELY a loss, but it's a loss, so I'll celebrate.  I actually made it through a holiday week without a weight gain.  Woohoo!

I was thinking the other day that I am going to start doing my weekly weigh-ins on Mondays.  We're getting to the point in the year last year that lead to my demise.  The weekends of BBQ's and nights down on the boardwalk in Ocean City.  All that delicious food does not like my body.  I'm hoping that if I do my Weigh-ins on Mondays I will have more will power over the weekend knowing that I have to officially face the scale before being able to work off what I ate.  So we'll see if that works.

Today I woke up planning on doing a similar workout to Monday - gym then run around my neighborhood.  Well I got to the gym and got sucked into the Royal Wedding.  I ended up doing 1 hr on the bike (12.75 miles) and a few upper body workouts before rushing home so I could see the wedding begin at 6.  I'll get a run in tomorrow though.

Enjoy your weekend!

Identity

One of the reasons why I have been really trying to love running is not only for the weightloss/health benefits, but also to help gain identity.   Sometimes (well many times) I feel like I still don't know exactly who I am these days.  When my oldest was born, I quit my job to be a Stay at Home Mom.  Sometimes I feel like I get stuck in that mom rut.  I used to have hobbies.  I used to dress stylish.  I used to get my hair cut and highlighted frequently.  Now I'm mostly known as my children's mom.  My hobbies have gone by the wayside.  I wear the same clothes because I dislike having to find clothes that suit my current body.  Running/exercise is something that I enjoy.  It's also something that I can do by myself, without my children.  As I lose weight and inches, I'm starting to feel more confident about myself.  I don't feel like a blob hauling children around.  As that confidence grows, I'm realizing I can do more and more.  I feel a sense of accomplishment when I'm done with each workout.  I'm getting to be known to friends and family as a runner (and a coupon queen lol).  I want to be an inspiration for others, especially loved ones who are sedentary.  If I can just help save 1 life by getting them moving, my goal is complete.

Running with the birds

Yesterday morning I realized that when I left the gym around 5:45 it was sunny.  A little light bulb went off in my head.  The sun is now rising early enough for me to run outdoors in the morning.  So this morning I woke up at my normal 4am and headed to the gym where I did 20 min bike, leg and some ab weight training.  I then left the gym, came home and immediately started to run around the neighborhood.  I have to figure out the exact mileage.  I did it before for our family walk, but today I added in a few cul-de-sacs and of course the GPS on my phone wasn't strong enough to record.  But I ended up running 35 minutes, with a few short spurts of walking.  I didn't realize how hilly the area was until I was running.

So I'm really excited about this new routine.  I've been hating having to run on the treadmill.  I also love that I'm getting fresh air and it's so peaceful.  I saw one person the whole run.  All I heard were the birds chirping.  Such a great way to start the day.

Try it Tuesday

Want to make a healthier version of chocolate cake?  I stumbled across this a few years ago.  Give this a try:

1 box chocolate cake mix (Spiced Cake is also very good)
1 15oz can of pumpkin

Mix pumpkin and cake mix together (DO NOT use oil etc as called for in the cake mix directions).

Bake as directed.

Not only is it lower in fat, but also a good way to sneak a few extra vitamins into your childs diet.

Slow Motion

is how my body was working today.  We could not have asked for more beautiful weather yesterday.  Much of the day was spent outside and we were able to sleep with the windows open.  That always makes me want to sleep.  We had a storm come through last night which resulted in us losing power right before bed.  I had a dream that no power somehow resulted in my phone alarm not working and I missed the gym.  A few minutes later my alarm went off.  I guess my dream was just wishful thinking. lol.

I'm going to get back into running on Wednesday.  Today I just 15 min bike warm up, 30 minutes Arc trainer and then lower body/core strength training.  During the run on Saturday I realized I really needed to up the lower body training.  I've been focusing a lot on upper body because it's getting to be tank top season.  My legs just felt so weak on Saturday.

So now that my run is over it's time for me to be a cheerleader.  My husband decided yesterday that he's signing up for a 5k run in June.  We will then both do one on July 4th when the boys are taking a mini vacation to my parents house.

Here's a picture from after the run.  I'm the childless one.  We totally didn't plan on dressing alike. lol I'm just glad I decided to wear my pants that have pink and not blue.

5k Results!

Today was the day for the 5k and the weather held true.  It was chilly and rainy during registration.  Thankfully the big downpour came through slightly before race time and we were in the car.. Right around the beginning of the race the rain stopped and didn't start up again until I was literally crossing the finish line.  I could not get my adrenaline going today and was hating the fact that I was running, in the damp cold.  I get so hot when I run so I only had a t-shirt and and light capri pants.  That worked out perfect while running.  I only wished I had gloves as my hands were cold.  I was so happy to see that finish line.  I am also so glad my friend was running with me.  I kept running at times when I really wanted to walk but knowing she was with me kept me going as I didn't want to hold her back (and come to find out she was thinking the same).  My final time was 34:13.  Not as good as before, but I crossed the line, and wasn't even near being last.  Now I'm just waiting for my next run on July 4th to begin sign ups.  The husband will be running with me.

Weigh in day

165.8

It's a gain from last week, which doesn't really surprise me.  Even though I've been pretty good with eating (minus a few cheats like McD's and Reese's Peanut Butter Egg) I really need exercise, in particular running, for me to lose weight.  Hopefully next week my husbands work schedule is back to normal.

This weekend is Easter.  Sunday we're going to my Brother-in-law/Sister-in-law's house for dinner. I'm in charge of dessert.  I'm thinking of making a low fat version of a Strawberry Pretzel salad.  I haven't had it in forever and it's sounding pretty tasty to me.  I need to make it for when we go somewhere because if I make it just for us at home, I'd eat the whole thing.

I was having such a hard time at the gym today waking up.  I felt like I needed toothpicks to keep my eyes open.  Somehow I did manage.  I ended up doing 15 min bike warm up, 35 minutes Arc trainer and the rest of the time doing core and upper body strength training.  When I got home my husband asked me how the gym was.  Normally my response is "Great!".  Today it was "Alright, but not as nice as my bed would have been.  I can't wait to go to sleep tonight".  Hopefully after my iced coffee I'll wake up, otherwise it's going to be one long day.

Enjoy your weekend!  I'm thinking I might need to find my sons swimmies for the run tomorrow just in case. :-)

Rain.  I've never run in the rain before, except trying to get into a shelter quick.  So it should be fairly interesting to say the least.  At least the temperature isn't that bad, and compared to my other run in 2008 this just might be a breeze since at start time it was already in the 70's with very high humidity.

I do feel ready for this, despite not really running a whole lot the past 2 or 3 weeks because I didn't want to injure my leg which has been feeling pretty good after a few weeks of cramping (maybe shin splints).  My goal is just to run the whole thing and cross the finish line.  I like to call it a run and not a race because I know I'll be nowhere near being first.  I think the time for the 2008 run was just under 33 minutes.  We'll see how it goes on Saturday.  I have little faith in beating that time.  I just want to have fun and the money goes towards a great cause.

Bad schedule this week

Today I was back in the gym for the first time since last week.  My husband's work schedule this week meant I had to miss Tuesday and Thursday.  I did enjoy being able to sleep in but was ready to get back to my routine.  Today he had to be at work early again, but at least it this time he didn't have to leave until 5:30 so I was able to get a quick workout in.  9 miles on the bike (42 minutes).

Yesterday we had a taste of summer here so I hauled the boys down to the park in their wagon.  It's about a 1-1.5 mile walk to and from the playground section.

Confession:  Anyone who knows me knows that I think chocolate and peanut butter is one of the best combinations of food.  Last night I went to Target to pick up a few things for our playgroup Easter Egg hunt tomorrow.   The Reese's peanut butter cups were calling my name and I grabbed one.  And I ate it.  I haven't even figured out the point value for it yet.  But oh it was so good and my one indulgence this Easter season.

Today's realization

First a weekend recap:  I have to pat myself on the back for staying pretty much on track over the weekend while away.  I did treat myself to an Orange Julius Saturday while at the mall and we stopped at McDonald's for dinner on the way home, but I had a Happy Meal.  We woke up Saturday to rain so I wasn't able to get the run in that I was hoping for.  But all in all it was a good *fairly* healthy weekend comparing it to before when I would indulge myself in sweets.

Today my husband had off work so I was able to sleep in and skip the early morning gym routine.  In the afternoon I headed to the park down the street from my house for a run.  I haven't run outdoors since the beginning of March so I was somewhat nervous.  I ran for about 40 minutes after a 5 min walk to get there.  That was about 3.25 laps around the park.  I'm really not sure what that breaks down to being mileage wise, but I ran the whole thing without stopping for a walk.

While running today I had a realization.  Running outdoors is so much easier for me.  I've been starting to dread running on the treadmill while at the gym.  It's just so boring despite being able to watch whatever is on tv (I tune into the news so I can catch the weather and whatever else is going on in the world).  Outside I get a change of scenery, I can adjust my pace as needed without feeling bad about having to push a button down or killing myself by thinking  I should be running at a faster pace.  I listen to a radio station that has some good beat songs (I'm thinking of trying to listen to the radio instead of the tv next time I'm on the treadmill to see if that helps).  I can give myself focal points on where I want to run before giving myself a break (most of the time I hit those points and pick another one instead of stopping).  Running outdoors is just much more natural for me.  So what my husband and I are going to try to do now that daylight lasts longer is head down to the park a few nights each week.  We'll alternate nights of running for both of us.  One will run while the other plays with the kids on the playground.  So I'm looking forward to that, that is until the horrible summer humidity creeps in.  Then I'll be happy to be running on a boring treadmill again.

Funny Friday

It's Friday!

And you know what than means?  Weekly weigh in day.

I'm thrilled that I broke past the 20lb lost mark this week by weighing in at 165.6!  Just about 4 more lbs to go and I reach my first goal of getting rid of all of the baby weight from the last pregnancy.

Today at the gym was 15 min bike warm up,  35 min elliptical (3.1 miles), upper body and obliques.

This weekend is going to be somewhat difficult to stay on track.  We're heading out to visit my family and there's always all kinds of junk there.  I plan on taking some of my fruits and veggies along with me so I can snack on those, just in case my parents don't have any.  I'm hoping that the rain tomorrow morning holds off so I can get my run in.  I think if I go first thing in the morning I should be fine.

Just a quickie

The husband had to leave for work around 5:15 this morning (but didn't make it out the door until 5:30, but that's a whole different story), so I just did a quick workout this morning.  Last night before I went to bed, I was half tempted to just turn off the alarm for today and skip the workout because I would much rather sleep.  After a few seconds of that thought I didn't do it.  Skipping a workout here and there because I was tired is one of the reasons why I ended up being so heavy to begin with.  I can't fall back into that trap.  So this morning I woke up and got 35 minutes in on the bike.  I should have gone on the treadmill for a run, but I did the math wrong and thought I didn't have as much time as I actually did.  But it was a good workout and according to the display panel I did 7.48 miles.

Well it's Wednesday

and a wet one at that.

Today at the gym I did 15 min on the bike for a warm up.  Normally Wednesday is a running day for me, but it's been a while since I've been on the Arc trainer so I hopped on that for 35 minutes, then lower body strength training as well as core and stretching.  I have to check with my husband about his work schedule tomorrow, but if he doesn't have to work then I'll run Wednesday, Arc trainer or elliptical on Friday then an outdoor run on Saturday.  We're heading out to visit my parents this weekend, so it will be easier for me to get a run in.  The best part is that we can leave the kids with grammy and pappy so my husband can join me.  The last time the 2 of us went running there we got lost and ended up going over 5 miles.  This time I've already mapped out a run on mapmyrun, so hopefully that won't be the case this time.

Try it Tuesday

I tried this recipe from Gina's Skinny recipes for Sunday night's dinner.  It was oh so easy and delicious.  The spinach alone was amazing - and my youngest had seconds.

Grilled Chicken with Spinach and Melted Mozzarella
Gina's Weight Watcher Recipes
Servings: 6 • S Size: 1 cutlet, spinach, cheese • Old Points: 4 pts • Points+: 4 pts
Calories: 153.3 • Fat: 4.2 g • Protein: 24.5 g • Carb: 4.0 g • Fiber: 1.3 g Sugar: .7 g

  • 24 oz (3 large) chicken breasts sliced in half lengthwise to make 6 cutlets
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 10 oz frozen spinach, drained
  • 3 oz shredded part skim mozzarella
  • 1 roasted red pepper, sliced in strips
  • olive oil spray

Preheat oven to 400°. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Lightly spray a grill with oil (I used my George Forman) or grill outside on a gas grill. Cook chicken on the grill until no longer pink, careful not to overcook or you'll have dry chicken.

Meanwhile, heat a sauté pan on medium heat. Add oil and garlic, sauté a few seconds, add spinach, salt and pepper. Cook a few minutes until heated through.

When chicken is done, lay on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment for easy clean-up. Divide spinach evenly between the 6 pieces and place on top. Top each with half oz mozzarella, then slices of roasted pepper and bake until melted, about 6-8 minutes.

I had a dream the other night

I just remembered it this morning.

I was running a half marathon.  After getting a certain distance from the start line I had someone pick me up in a car, then we hung out in a nearby parking lot until it was around the time I should have been finishing the race.  I then got back in the group of people and finished the run.  So I totally cheated in my dreams.  I guess I should google that and see what it really means.

The husband had to be in Maryland this morning by 5 so no gym today.  Yesterday was a completely exhausting day so I'm kind of happy to have the day off.  I spent a few hours at the park with the boys and friends.  My youngest is at the age where he doesn't understand that you just can't step off of any ledge on the equipment so I was on my toes the whole time making sure he didn't plummet.  I haven't been so happy for bedtime in quite some time.  I'll probably try to get some Kinect in with the oldest when the youngest is napping.

One thing I am definitely proud of about the boys is their love for fruit.  Sunday the 2 of them ate a cantaloupe in less than 5 min.  Yesterday they ate almost an entire watermelon, along with oranges and bananas.  Now if only I could get them to gobble up vegetables just as fast.

Happy Monday

That's certainly not what I was thinking this morning when I woke up, but now the sun is shining bright and it feels like summer.

I managed to complete 1 of my weekend goals.  I didn't do too bad with the eating, despite the galore of yummy looking carbs at a wedding.  I really wanted to get a run in yesterday, but after church and some food shopping, we ended up doing some yard work that seemed to take forever.  I just never got that in, but I did run on the treadmill at the gym today (2.25 miles 26:48).  I was saddened to realize I forgot my headphones, but I ended up having a decent run for a Monday morning.  I think without the sound from the news (what I watch in the mornings, I know exciting huh) that I was able to focus more on my form.  I was still dragging though.

Yesterday I went to a produce store that I've been wanting to go to and came home with so much food!  Romaine lettuce, celery, cucumbers, apples, oranges, cantaloupe, watermelon, grapes and bananas for about $20.  I just ate a delicious salad and used leftover grilled chicken.

I can't believe my first 5k of the year is in less than 2 weeks!  I'm very excited for it.

Funny Friday

Weekly Weigh-In

Almost made my goal - 166.4 - .4 shy of 20 lbs lost.  Next week I will definitely be there!

While we're talking stats  - I might as well report the monthly measurements

Last months (along with the months loss in inches):
Right arm: 13" (same)
Left arm: 13" (same)
Right Thigh: 26" (-1")
Left Thigh: 26" (-1")
waist: 37.75" (-1.75")
chest: 42" (-1")
hips: 42.25" (-1.75")

And today (total inches loss since Feb 7th) - somehow it all ended up being whole numbers this month

Right arm: 12" (-1")
Left arm: 12" (-1")
Right Thigh: 25" (-2")
Left Thigh: 25" (-2")
waist: 37" (-2.5")
chest: 41" (-2")
hips: 41" (-3")

Today's goal for the gym was to do a bike warm up, 3 mile run, short tanning session and upper body.  In reality what happened was 10.5 miles on the bike (50 min), short tanning session and triceps.  When I got out of bed this morning I realized my right calf was actually feeling great.  I have a wedding to go tomorrow, which means wearing heels, so I didn't want to be hobbling around and decided to skip the running today instead opting for the bike.  When I finished I was actually surprised I was sweating, normally I don't find the bike to be that great of a workout for me, but today I pushed the speed more than I normally do.

Goals for the weekend:
- don't go carb crazy at the reception (it's brunch and I LOVE brunch food)
- get an outdoor run in on Sunday

Have a great weekend everyone!

Man I feel like a woman

an old woman.

I don't know what the heck I did yesterday, but I did something to my shoulder in the morning between the time I got home from the gym and I went to get my youngest out of his crib.  I could barely lift my arm.  The sad thing is that I only ate my breakfast in that time period.  Is it possible to hurt your shoulder eating oatmeal?  I didn't even use my arms at the gym.  Anyway so yesterday I was dealing with a tight calf muscle, a hurt arm and the night before I snipped my finger while cutting my husbands hair.  I got a preview of what it's like to be an old lady.  We did manage to get a 1 mile after dinner walk in though.  Before I went to bed I took some Motrin PM and woke up feeling much better.

A friend of mine was raving about workout pants she picked up at Wal-Mart.  I found myself at that store over the weekend so I checked them out and ended up getting 2 of them.  They are Danskin Now Dri-More Capri leggings and only $11.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.  I seriously feel like I'm not wearing pants (but for the good of everyone I am).  They are that light and comfortable.  I normally stay away from tighter fitting pants, but these are actually flattering on me. They also had some adorable tops there too.

Half way there

Last night I stayed up to watch the Biggest Loser.  I was paying for it in the morning.  I overslept by 10 minutes.  It's only 10 minutes, but when I'm on a budgeted schedule so I am home in time for my husband to leave for work, those 10 minutes make a difference.  I ended up warming up on the bike for 15 min, ran 2 miles (21:52) on the treadmill then worked on lower body and core strength training.  Of course of all days for me to have to limit my workout time was the day I was feeling great running.  Go figure, huh?  I could have stayed on that longer and shortened the strength training, but it's been a few days since I've worked on the lower body.  I ended the workout with some good stretching.  My right leg has been so tight the past few days, but so far today it is better since I stretched it for so long.

Here we are at Wednesday already.  I have actually been doing very good at sticking with my daily WW points so far.  But boy have I realized how much I do unconscious eating.  there have a been a few times the past 2 days where I have stopped myself from taking a bite off the boys plates when they were done eating, or even before I gave them food.  I have stopped myself from taking a few pretzels when I'm giving them a snack.  I already have my days menu planned out, so I am ready for the day!

Try It Tuesday

Try it Tuesday is the other new feature for the blog that I mentioned last week.  Every Tuesday I will be posting something for you to try.  It might be a new recipe I found, an exercise or whatever else I might come across.  Here is that recipe for the Weight Watchers Chocolate-Amaretto Cheesecake that my friend brought on Saturday.  Super yummy!

Chocolate-Amaretto Cheesecake

Six 2 1/2" chocolate graham cracker squares, made into crumbs
2 1/3 cups part-skim ricotta cheese
4 ounces nonfat cream cheese

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 egg
3 T all-purpose flour
2 T Amaretto liquor
1 t vanilla
2 T semisweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 300º F. Spray an 8" springform pan with nonstick cooking spray. Sprinkle the cracker crumbs evenly over the bottom of the pan.
2. In a blender or food processor, puree the ricotta and cream cheeses, the sugar, cocoa, egg, flour, liquor and vanilla. Stir in the chocolate chips.
3. Pour the cheese mixture over the crumbs. Bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 1 1/2 hours.

My "Go Get'em" week

I have a confession:  I've cheated here and there this past 2 weeks eating.  I'll take a bite here and a bite there of food while I'm cooking, or plating the kids food, or giving the kids a snack.  I haven't counted those WW points into my daily total.  Yes I have had losses on the scale, but it probably would have been more.   I've been crawling my way to see 20lbs lost and have made the decision that this week will be the week to get my butt back in gear.  I want to see the number 166 on the scale this Friday and if not this Friday DEFINITELY next Friday.  So that's my goal.  How am I going to get there?  Working my butt off in the gym and writing down every.single. food I intake on a piece of paper BEFORE I eat it.  Lately I've just been figuring out the point total AFTER I ate it, then just keeping a running total of my daily points on the chalkboard in our kitchen.  Hopefully at the end of the week I'll have some great news to share!

Weekend in review:  Saturday I did okay in the food department even with having a get together at night.  My one friend made this AMAZING WW cheesecake.  She's going to send me the recipe and I'll share it, hopefully tomorrow.  Yesterday I was doing great in the morning.  My husband took our oldest to church while I stayed home with the youngest who was napping.  When he got home, he brought me a hoagie he picked up at Wawa.  I ate it without any hesitation, because I love myself a turkey and cheese hoagie.  After I ate it, I tallied up the points based on the nutritional details from their website.  14 points!  And that was just for the 6" roll.  Holy cow.  A few years ago we used to get the large (28 point) and I would easily eat the whole thing, along with chips AND an iced coffee loaded with lots of creamer.  So lessen learned, make sure when the hubs orders a hoagie it's with either light mayo or no mayo and I'll just add a tiny bit at home (it's really one of my favorite parts of the sandwich so there's no way I could go without).

I skipped workouts both days and was back at the gym this morning:  15 min on bike for warm-up.  3.1 miles on treadmill (34:29) then walked until 40 min.  Ended the workout with upper body and oblique strength training.

Funny Friday

As promised yesterday, I have decided to add 2 new features to the blog.  The first one to be debuted is FUNNY FRIDAY.  Every Friday I'll post something that is funny, a cartoon, a joke or whatever just to lighten up the day.  Life is to short to be serious all the time so let's have a laugh.  Ok so the first one might not me slap your knee funny, but it's so true so I had to post it.

This one is a little more humorous.
 Enjoy your day!

Weigh in day

I'm going with my weight yesterday - you'll hear why in a few - 167.8.

Yesterday I was off - I'm going to blame this horrible chilly rainy weather.  Nothing I ate satisfied me.  I was just so hungry.  All.day.long.  Until I ate dinner, then I finally felt full.  I tried eating fruits.  I tried eating protein.  I tried eating some wheat crackers with peanut butter.  I tried almost everything we had, including black bean brownies.  I was cold and didn't want a smoothie, although that probably would have helped.  I tried drinking more water.  Nothing did it for me.  So, I was scared to weigh in this morning and skipped the scale, hence me going with yesterday's weight. Cheating yes, but I already owned up and realized I totally screwed up yesterday.  It happens to the best of us though and today is a new day, which will be a better  day.

I was up later than I wanted to be yesterday because I was painting our bathroom after the boys went to bed.  This morning when the alarm went off I did not want to get up.  I knew it was once again cold and rainy outside.  All I wanted to do was stay in the warm bed, but I talked myself into it and got up.  Once at the gym I warmed up on the bike for 15 minutes.  I then headed over to the treadmill for a run - 3.1 miles in 35:07.  I was doing fine, walked for 2 min at the half way point, and then this guy got on the treadmill next to mine, and he had an odor.  I couldn't pin point it - it may have been stale cigarettes, deodorant or cologne.  I'm not sure, but what I do know is that it was bothering me.  I ended up having to walk for another 2 min at one point because I couldn't take the smell much longer.  It's not like our gym is short on treadmills.  There are at least 30 of them.  When I got off there was absolutely noone on the last 2 rows so there were PLENTY of open treadmills. Maybe he thought I was cute. lol.  All I know is he messed me up.  But after I finished running I walked until 40 min, then worked on upper body strength training.

Today I participated in a virtual 5k and took pictures before and after I ran.  So here I am.  The pictures are kind of blurry - taken with a cell phone in the gym locker room. I snapped the pics very quickly so noone would walk in and think I'm a weirdo taking a picture of myself in the locker room bright and early in the morning. :)
